Equip your Midsize DownEaster Salt and Sandspreader with a Flip-Up Chute! Empty
your hopper quickly at the end of a storm by flipping the chute and spinner assembly
out of the way. Remove the chute completely in seconds by simply taking out 2 pins!

Advantages of the Flip-Up Chute:
Flips, removes, and re-installs in seconds. Ideal for emptying the hopper fast.
Store the spreader flat, with the chute flipped up or removed.
You can tow a trailer with a spreader in the truck body.

Plenty of side gussets to reinforce and strengthen the hopper - 3 per side on 8' and 9' models; 4 per side on 10' units.
Continuous seam welds on all painted models (some brands use skip welds)
Lifting bar, for sander removal at end of season, serves as a side reinforcement.
Hopper lip includes a return for extra strength.
Ball bearings with grease fittings on all shafts instead of less reliable bushings. Large 1-1/8" shafts on both drive and idler ends of

Internal baffles control the spread pattern even for parking lots, heavy on the left for roadways. Baffles adjust easily without tools.
Spread pattern adjusts from 4 to 30 ft.
Adjustable feed gate allows you to control the flow of material-light for snow, heavy for ice or trouble spots.
Pitched hoppers on 3 yd and larger sanders have 2 screens.
Optional chute extension drops spinner 12" - perfect for dump bodies.
Cleaning pad minimizes material deposits in pickup bed.
14" conveyor chain with crossbars every 5" (every third chain link) for a steady, sure flow of material.
2-piece top screens on all spreaders, for easier access to the hopper.
